Dear UM Community,

The University has recently experienced a sophisticated phishing attack. As a result, some people’s payroll direct deposit was misdirected. Please log in to Workday and verify that your direct deposit information is accurate (visit: https://workday.miami.edu).

The best thing you can do to protect yourself and prevent this from happening is to enroll in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) immediately. Visit: https://caneid.miami.edu to enroll. Using a second factor (e.g., mobile phone or landline) in addition to your CaneID credentials is far more secure than your username and password alone. Since hackers don't have physical access to these devices while attempting to compromise your account, your information remains secure.

If you suspect you may be a victim of identity theft or have issues enrolling in MFA, please contact the UMIT Service Desk at: (305) 284-6565 or itsupportcenter@miami.edu.
