Dear Colleagues,

John Shipley has informed me of his intention to resign as vice president of finance and treasurer at the end of the fiscal year. John and Lori will return to Nashville, where they own a home, and will be closer to family and friends.

John told me of his plans several months ago, which has provided an opportunity to consider the organizational structure within finance and treasury, along with succession planning. I will tell you more about my plans shortly.

John has served the University well since joining five years ago. Among many accomplishments, he led recent efforts to significantly improve retail and residential college dining facilities. He consolidated procurement and supply chain activities and reengineered the management of working capital.

John will continue to serve in his current role until the end of the fiscal year and will help with transitions.

We will find the right ways to thank John for his service and bid him farewell in the months to come.

Sincerely,

Joe Natoli
